Woodsboro. A quiet little town tucked away in California. Well... Semi-quiet. The kind of place where everybody knows everybody, gossip spreads faster than wildfire, and teenagers spend Friday nights looking for trouble because there ain't much else to do. But all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Twenty-six years ago, Woodsboro belonged to a monster. A serial killer hidden behind a pig mask stalked the town in the early seventies, leaving behind bodies, blood, and enough nightmares to last generations. Eventually, they caught him. Buried him. Closed the book. Or so everyone thought. Because when people start turning up dead twenty-six years later, the town begins whispering the same question: What if he never died? Everyone remembers the Woodsboro Murders. The masked killer. The blood. The survivors. What nobody knows is that this time... They're chasing a ghost. Every clue points back to a dead man. Every rumor feeds the legend. Every terrified citizen is too busy looking backward to notice the monsters standing right in front of them. And somewhere in the middle of it all is Elizabeth Prescott. The sweet cousin of Sidney Prescott. The cheer captain. The girl who always smiles. The girl who remembers birthdays, helps strangers, and seems far too kind to have a cruel bone in her body. When Elizabeth was fourteen, she and her mother fled to Woodsboro to escape an abusive father. They settled on the outskirts of town, in a lonely house surrounded by acres of woods and empty land. Their closest neighbor happened to be the Macher family, though "close" was a generous term when miles of dirt roads and towering trees separated each property. It was quiet out there. Safe. Or at least it was supposed to be. Because everybody has secrets. Some are just better at hiding them. The question is: What happens when the wrong people survive? "What about me? I have feelings too, you know?" Words can mean a lot to someone, especially when they are repeated. They make you question how you think, how you operate, and most of all, how you see yourself. It makes you wonder how you fit in to this puzzle of the world, and it makes you second guess everything. A single word, can really change how everything revolves around you, when you have nobody to fall back on. At 16 years of age, Thalia has never truly understood what it feels like to be included. Inclusion is not something that people did and immediately thought of her. People looked at her, and decided to walk around her, or to purposely go out of their way to not pick her. Even teachers turned a blind eye on the girl that was truly suffering. People never understood the full weight of their words. Actions were something you could dismiss, but it was the words that hit their target, every time. They hit her in the school hallways, and they took full force when she walked in through the front door of her house. It was a house, something with four walls and people in it, but never a home. Nothing that said people of a family lived there. Those people that made a family, had one of their own. They had a family, that did not extend to the young girl that was their step-sister. They made it clear, they were step-siblings, and not siblings. Growing up, it became 16 against 1. Older sisters are supposed to share their clothes with their younger sisters and prepare them for what was awaiting for them. Older brothers were supposed to protect the younger ones and tease them from time to time. But these people, simply preferred to hold the title, rather than to act. Only one day, that would all change. Nila returned his embrace, holding him as though she never wanted to let go. "This might be our last hug, Kavin," she said softly.. She chose her family, and he chose her!
