The death of Holika is considered as the victory of good. Tourists from various countries very excitingly come to India to join and enjoy the special Holi festival.

Gregorio Sánchez Gómez nació en Istmina, Chocó, en 1895 y murió en Cali en 1942. Se trasladó a esta ciudad donde ejerció como abogado y escribió una veintena de libros, entre los cuales se cuentan ocho novelas. Tuvo cargos oficiales locales y dirigió varios periódicos. En 1938 escribió "La bruja de las minas", fruto de su estadía en Marmato, ciudad caldense, también minera. Fue cercano a escritores como Emilio Cuervo Márquez, Simón Latino, José María Rivas Groot, José Asunción Silva, José Eustasio Rivera, Luis Enrique Osorio y León de Greiff. "La bruja de las minas" narra la contradicción entre las empresas mineras inglesas o americanas y el mundo de los negros, esclavizados en los socavones de oro. Se acerca a la cultura africana y mestiza de Marmato, similar a la de Istmina, con eficacia mayor que la de un sociólogo, antropólogo o historiador. Muestra cómo la explotación, el asesinato y la violencia no comenzaron en Colombian con el crimen de Jorge Eliecer Gaitán, pues eran vigentes en la década de los treinta. El nombre de la obra se debe a que los mineros rechazaban a los médicos de la empresa, porque creen en los hechizos, los brebajes y las brujerías. El historiador Jairo Henry Arroyo Reina da cuenta en el prólogo del mundo en que sucede la novela: "Un contexto en el cual el ritmo del tiempo y la vida son definidos por la marimba y el tambor, los pasos del currulao y los desenfrenos del cuerpo desnudo. Contrasta con las racionalidades dominantes que han logrado definir el tiempo y disciplinar el cuerpo desde el eje de la producción".
