Alexander is 15 when he gets adopted by the Washingtons. He's been passed from foster home to foster home, and nobody took him for real. Why? He was a brat. He jumped between shelters and houses. Then finally, a middle aged couple take him in. He's reluctant at first. He doesn't trust them. He doesn't really trust anyone, really. He refuses to call them "Mom" and "Dad". He hates it when George Washington calls him his son. What with his new home and school trouble, his life is quite disastrous. Will he settle down?

Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens are new to King's college. But they're not scared making new friends and having fun. Well, as much fun as they can, under the crushing weight of work.

This will have many AUs, all including a Main Chain and multiple Private Chains!

He works to live, only to live to work. For him speaking is a baggage that takes up unnecessary time and disturbs the balance that he finds in the world. That balance can't be swayed. John Laurens, native to Charleston, can only be described as someone of a resolute personality. He advocates for human rights. He worked through college by himself. He is strong (or at least he likes to think that). He often finds himself rambling and talking about everything but the topic at hand. One day of fateful meetings. One coffee shop morning. One evening of disasters. One untimely death. One history of emotional scarring that doesn't seem to fade. One writer trying to find his voice. This story is a collaboration between me and one of my writer friends. I write the Hamilton chapters she writes the Laurens chapters. We update witha set of both of their chapters every friday, or Thursday.
