Have you ever wished that, just once, someone would truly care? Have you ever felt tired of wearing the mask of being an independent girl? I am Avani Chopra, and I live with all these questions. Being introverted, an overthinker, the first child in an Indian family, and a girl is never easy. Expectations are silent but heavy, and strength is assumed even when you are breaking. For the first time in my life, I want someone I can call My Home. Short story with only one part dedicated to someone who happens to play a significant role in my over all happiness. He stayed awake with me one night as I cried to him about how cruel the world can be but on that night, I found peace in imagining a "happy place" to which we can escape and find eternal contentment. This was written that night after I had told him I was "going to sleep". I put into it my sincerest emotions just as I do with all of my writing and I hope that by publishing this short story, others can find some serenity in their lives. We all could use a little break, don't you think?

I've been hurt and broken. Just tryna sort out my emotions so I can move forward in life.

Have you ever loved somebody so much that it made you cry? If you had the chance to start over with someone, would you go back and meet them again or would you choose not to meet them at all? "The reasons why" are some of my compilations. The purpose is to inspire, provoke, and disturb. These poems comes from the heart. Some of them are based on my experiences and some of them are not.
