Harrisburdick Stories

A (very) short story that came from the original brilliance of Harris Burdick. I must warn that there is a theme of domestic abuse and a mention of alcohol but I thoroughly hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

In school, we were supposed to write a story based on one of Harris Burdick's pictures and the sentences that go with them. I chose, "Missing In Venice," which is the picture of the cover. The line is, "Even with her mighty engines in reverse, the ocean liner was pulled further and further into the canal." I didn't use this exact line, but the idea was the same. Many years ago, a children's book editor named Peter Wendler met a man named Harris Burdick, who gave him 14 pictures with intriguing captions. Burdick promised to return with the stories behind those illustrations and captions. But the next day, no one came. And for more than 30 years, writers and readers puzzled over this mystery.

Marco had went to her favourite library, Mr. Linden's Library. But, she had gotten more then she was looking for when she had found a old and evil looking book. This story is based off of a picture (the cover is the picture) by Harris Burdick. I created this story in my Language Arts class as an assignment. This is my first story that I'm posting publicly, so bear that in mind. I've said too much. Read on in Another Place, Another Time.

The Mysteries of Harris Burdick According to the introduction the author was given 14 illustrations with titles and subtitles for 14 children's books. Mr. Burdick said he would return with the rest of the stories the next day, but never returned. Now it is a published book of the illustrations; and readers are encouraged to write their own stories. Here is my first story from the story.

Based off of the mystery of Harris Burdick and his drawings and captions. We used Mr. Linden's Library and Archie Smith, Boy Wonder. This is an adventure type book with a little mystery as the characters must find out who Mr. Linden is and why they were chosen by two of the same, mysterious book. However, she's lonely and bored, and she wishes for an escape. One day at the library, she notices a book with her name on it, so she checks it out and discovers a library within the book, a grand library that takes Didi far beyond her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky...

Will she stay trapped forever or will she push herself to get out and get back to her 'normal' life? This was a narritive I was writing for school but i wanna extend it so here is a whole wattpad story about it.
