Rumor has it a hero has run amuck to undo all the dastardly damage done by King Ganondorf. The rains in Kakariko have dried. The forest has been eradicated of monsters and Lake Hylia is abundant with crystal clear waters once more. However the hero restoring peace to Hyrule once battle at a time is pretty... unremarkable. At least to you. It isn't until a freak accident with your younger brother occurs that a hero with bigger problems - like saving Hyrule- shows you that even though his back is against the wall as an unremarkable hero- he is quite the remarkable man. {I'm at work I have to rewrite this synopsis!}

This is a fan of of Link, the Hero of Time, and Malon. It is written in Malon's pov almost exclusively. It centers around friendship, trauma, maturity and eventually true and lasting connection. Link struggles with having such an older soul in a child's body, keeping the adult experiences in OoT mostly to himself and how his trip to Termina broke his mind a little (didn't we all break from MM a little?) I love the idea of a relatively normal and incandescently happy life for Link and Malon. I obviously don't own any of these characters, etc. credit to Nintendo.

It is not my purpose, at this time, to write a novelization of the events of the Hero of Time's era in regards to Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask as I desire to press on from familiar grounds to less familiar grounds as opened to the imagination of all. This text captures simply my take on the life of the Hero of Time and the events pertaining to his life and fate. I intend to capture the events of the return of the Hero to Hyrule after his maddening adventure in Termina, Ganondorf's invasion of Hyrule, and the fall of the hero in becoming the 'shade'. For conciseness of the tale, in text, I reference my other post, 'Chronicles of a Legend' for suggested reading. However, you may not want to read too much as it contains spoilers, but it's up to you. This novelization also covers the events of the Hero's Shade which ties with the events of the Legend of Zelda's 'Twilight Princess' In regards to the War of Twilight, the text shall cover only that which pertains to the Hero of Time.

After a long and hard journey there is yet another epic adventure that awaits The Hero of Twilight. He must learn in depth what it truly means to be a wolf, and to be connected with the ways of an ancient world and to see through the eyes of a past hero who conveyed his title. He must travel back in time to an idyllic era of prosperity and peace. Link discovers lost and hidden wonders with the mighty sublime beast, his guardian spirit, The ancient Hero of Time. The Hero of Time is defeated in battle. As the once raging fires of war fade away, the wife of the beloved hero who travelled through time witnesses firsthand the destruction Ganondorf had caused. This time, after all of the hero's careful planning, the tide was in the hand of the King of Thieves. After his defeat and the destruction of Hyrule, Malon, the girl he'd promised the world, wanders the death streaked fields, broken, when a comforting wind dances around her, alongside a familiar tune being whistled in its gusts. Even in death, the Hero of Time deserves to be happy. After he teaches the Hero of Twilight, the new hero, all of his hidden skills, he laments no longer, and is reunited with the family he missed so much. A pair of oneshots surrounding the Hero of Time's death. May have future updates.
