Summary: Mikhail Zlobin was a very promising Russian high jumper but to be able to compete for Russia in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro he had to change sport. Misha's heart was left in athletics however and throughout the games he can't help but be drawn to the action on the track and field arena. His heart will always burn for the sport but maybe this time high jump is not the only things that is catching his attention, maybe the sport is not the only thing that makes him want to go back there even though he knows he shouldn't. Country Pride and Heart Desires is a romance novel about a young man torn between family and love, a story about self-discovery along a road filled with hard choices and unexpected turns. Notes: This story was inspired by the ban of Russian track and field athletes under 2015 that has yet to be lifted. The story takes place under the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016. Some things will be changed to fit the story such as the specific dates of the different sporting events and the arena for the opening ceremony. This is my first original story and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much I am enjoying writing it.
