Highlanders myths, and the songs by the people of Scotland and Ireland that they sing in Gaelic have inspired these short stories. I always use selkies as a way of speaking my truth. Selkies are humanoid creatures who can shapeshift between human and seal form, but they can only do this when their heart is ready and in some cases when they fall in love with a human. I wrote The Selkie and the Wheelchair for a magazine and I decided to include it as a personal letter, dhuibhse, mo luchd-leughaidh gràdhach [to you, my darling readers].

After a night they all head up to Inverness in the highlands to see TJ's grandmother. He finds what seems like a dairy written in the 1800s by his great, great grandmother. This dairy somehow predicted the events that would happen in the future and the fate of his best friend AJ.
