Amanda Yelnats a high school girl and her twin brother Stanley yelnats always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time their father is an inventor and is trying to find a cure for smelly feet so when opportunity strikes with a pair of Clive Livingston shoes falling from the sky they race to get home but they are stopped by the police after being accused of stealing the shoes they are sent away to camp green lake a camp for troubled youth and soon realise this camp isn't like any other they've ever seen.
