A notebook lay haphazardly tossed aside on the desk, opened to a withered page with a tint and numerous creases. The words seemed to have been written by an ink and quill, the letters fairly faded and nearly impossible to configure. A large amount of the seemingly ancient text had been restored, it now being eligible. My fingertips glided across the paperwork as I read it aloud, the crinkled pages providing a rough texture on my palms.
"An Aegis is a Biped demon despite not having a functioning bile sac, the creature assists its owner in spells as a palisman would. It also works as a conscious supporting witches in their endeavors with advice, though this characteristic came to obscure as witches modernized. An Aegis became more of a companion than a conscious, sharing the precise personality of their counterpart instead of the usual opposite. Demons have been demonstrated not to occupy an Aegis unless they possess extreme strength, intentional or not. This has ignited many controversies about whether the titan used to have one of its own, some even theorize that's what led it to its downfall-"
I lick my finger, turning a few pages.
