Inspired by Royal love stories of the past, here is my take on this genre of romance.
When headstrong and bookish Blythe Florence is forced into an arranged marriage to save her family's estate, she finds herself engaged to Lord Leonidas Broderick, a stoic, reclusive war hero recently returned from the Napoleonic front. Rumors swirl that he is cold-hearted, haunted, and incapable of love.
Determined to keep her independence, Blythe proposes a deal: they will marry in name only, and she will remain at her family home while he resumes his quiet life at Broderick Manor.
But what begins as a distant and practical arrangement soon changes when a series of letters between the two, meant only to manage estate matters, turns unexpectedly intimate. As each letter reveals more of their vulnerabilities, desires, and hidden wounds, Blythe begins to wonder if love might be found not in defiance, but in surrender.
