Alistair is a oddly talented young prince that has yet to learn how to rule the kingdom. Under the guidance of the royal advisor Alaric, he'll find out soon. His brother-at-arms Sirius is a combat prodigy who becomes both his guardian and matchmaker. Yes, matchmaker. Upon encountering a certain underground group or cult of some sort (they don't know and honestly, I don't either... yet), they must leave the palace to ensure their safety. After fleeing the palace (for reasons not to be disclosed), they stumble upon Ebony, the self-proclaimed Princess of Mischief. Who tries to beat the crap out of them, only to be subdued by their mentor Perseus. With a name to clear and a country to fix, is there any hope for our young protagonists? Quite honestly, I doubt it. They're only moody teenagers after all. "ROT" is a spoken eulogy for someone still alive. This is an unflinching look at addiction, abandonment, and the quiet violence of watching someone decay in front of you. It's grief, rage, and mourning tangled in one. A poem for the ones who were left to rot alongside the people they couldn't save.

"The Autumn of Life" is a deeply moving, introspective prose piece that explores the profound intersections of grief, solitude, and renewal. Through the evocative imagery of a weathered shed window, a forgotten garden gnome, and a majestic, fading oak tree, the narrator navigates the silent weight of depression and isolation. Last year, I decided to write a bouquet of cozy fantasy short stories about plant people. It started as a way for me to explore and improve my writing, but also to hopefully create fantasy worlds full of wonder and adventure. The first tale introduces us to Gold Mary who tends to the Sunken garden. She serves a large plant community by finding them plots and nourishing them all. For the Garden is the body, and the plants are the soul. In the larger picture, we will meet more sentient plant people that inhabit other gardens in this forever growing world. Hope you like it! The story will resume next with "Lawn Dad," which follows Gold Mary's father.

Moments of clarity flicker like crossing stars, only to be swallowed by the clouds of uncertainty.
