Timber and her family are entering the dry season early this year, which means battening down the window covers to keep out the harsh sandstorms and stocking up on food and water. Timber just braces for a long, hot few months inside her dark home, until a few days in, her little sister finds her way out of the house and into the storm. And without thinking of the consequences, Timber goes after her. Timber endures exhaustion and illness, betrayal and loneliness, and everything in between as she wanders the hot deserts in search of her sister and eventually her home, one little girl in the middle of a situation tougher than any she's ever imagined.

Her planet threatened and attacked, Skylar (Skye) Jay Grey and her friends left Siliken, their home planet. Only 7 years old, Skylar lost her parents on her way to Earth. But her friend's parent's can't stay with them either or else the evil ruler of their planet will notice. Left to live with her uncle, Skylar moved out when she turned 11, living an independant life and schooling at a gifted school called Southern Brooks, ran by her own uncle. But Skylar is still affected by what happened to her parents and can't drop what happened 9 years ago. Now, Skylar and the gifted students of Southern Brooks must train hard, to win their planet back. But the questions is.. can they? Without any distractions?
