But one day, shortly before applying to U.A., Izuku is bitten by a genetically modified radioactive spider during an accident involving experimental research.

In a world where only women are born with quirks and men make up just less then 5 percent of the population, society no longer believes males can become heroes. Izuku a quirkless boy, still dreams of saving people despite being told it's impossible.
