These people are called akuma no ko, or Devil Children. They are persecuted and discriminated against because of the gods mistakes. Karasuno VBC is made entirely up of people who are part god and/or spirit, including their managers, coach, and faculty advisor. All except for their beloved captain. But that's a lie. Because even though they think he's normal, he's just hiding his identity as an akuma no ko.
