Kit Connor was sixteen when Heartstopper changed his life. One minute, he was a teenager trying to balance school, auditions, and friends. The next, he was stepping onto sets, answering endless interview questions, meeting fans, and discovering what it meant to have millions of people watching him. Now seventeen, Kit has become very good at pretending everything is okay. He smiles for the cameras. He laughs during interviews. He waves to fans. And whenever someone asks how he's doing, he gives the same answer. "I'm fine." But behind the smile, Kit is struggling. The constant filming, press events, photographers, social media, and expectations are beginning to wear him down. Everyone seems to want something from him, and Kit is terrified of disappointing anyone. Even the people closest to him don't realise how much he's hiding. Until Joe does. Joe has always been one of the people Kit feels safest around, but when he notices Kit becoming quieter, more distant, and increasingly overwhelmed, he refuses to ignore it. Then one difficult weekend changes everything. An unexpected incident puts Kit under even more attention, and suddenly the cameras seem to be everywhere. Headlines appear. Fans start speculating. Kit feels like he has lost control of his own life. And for the first time, the smile he's been hiding behind isn't enough. With Joe and the rest of the Heartstopper cast standing beside him, Kit has to learn that asking for help doesn't make him weak-and that he doesn't have to pretend to be okay just because everyone is watching. Because behind the character, behind the interviews, and behind the smile... there is still just Kit.
