John goes out drinking with Mike, but when he gets home, he confesses things to Sherlock because he thinks he is dreaming. But when others get wind of the possible budding relationship things go terribly wrong. Who could possibly want to stop them from coming together?

John Watson is just a normal kid living in an extremely abnormal town. Most people make a living selling lies about aliens or going out at night to make circles in the corn fields with their trucks, and John doesn't believe any of it. After The Fall, Sherlock decides not to go back home to London. Instead, he starts a new life fighting crime in Washington DC. Only when Sherlock meets a young boy who looks an awful lot like an old friend does he wonder if maybe he made the wrong choice.

Every time Sherlock has a realization about his romantic feelings towards John, he deletes the memory that triggered it. In effect, he has lost conversations and pieces of memories. During a pretend relationship required for a case, he realizes these memories cannot be deleted or evidence will be lost. Forced to keep them, he has to decide what to do with his affections.
