A Chase After The Wind. It was all meaningless

Josephina Kaylinn never really knew a friendly life. With her abusive father and a loving mother she had to learn to be strong for her mother. She never had friends because she was never allowed to. Their quiet little town knows about her father, but they look down at her and her mother for staying. What they don't know is that her father threatened them so they wouldn't leave him. Being the brave little girl, Josie (as Kyle called her, while Klae preferred Jojo) was she took most of the beatings that were meant for her mother. Her violin skills were superior to anyone else's in town, as were her tomboyness and voice. When Josephina is 8 she finds a friend in their neighbor boy Kyle Mackey. With them in the same grade it was easy to see the friendship, but he was popular and only hung out with her when they were alone. One day while playing outside Josie was dragged away from Kyle and Kyle was held back by his shocked parents and older brother Klae as they watched a 10 year old girl getting dragged away by the hair, kicking and screaming by her father. She convinces her mother to leave her father and they do. They leave behind their life in the small town and run away from it. Josie a fighter and her mother the one she needed to fight for. Josie shortened her nickname to just Jo, and changed. 7 years later Josie and her mother come back, her father had passed away from drug overdose. It was safe. They moved back into her childhood home and everyone knew it. They gossiped about how different they were, how strong they looked. And more importantly how strong little Josie became. They could see the power in the way she rode her motorcycle and the way she dressed. What will happen when Jo and Kyle meet once again? Will their friendship rekindle? What is Kyle's secret that he will only share with Josie? What will happen when a new kid, Marco, shows more than a little interest in Jo? Who will steal her heart, and actually keep it? Klae or Marco?
