"your dreams are so bright," he said with a sad smile, "i just don't want my dull existence to dim them."
a story where:
two boys learn to live in the light
OR
they both get consumed by shadow.
Josh was forced into college after giving up on life completely. He's drained, depressed, and nothing really matters. If it were up to him, the world would have left him behind years ago, at the same place he felt stuck. He's not going to do more than the bare minimum, but he also can't handle disappointing his family further. There is no light where he's from, the only driving force is his deep discomfort with making people hate him. Maybe it would be easier if he let them.
Tyler went to college as soon as he could. His life was gentle and full of color, the only struggle he feels on a daily basis is what to wear. He has huge goals and won't let anything stop him. He's just worried about how he can make more friends in the meantime. Tyler isn't vain or judgmental, but he refuses to be anything but perfect at any moment. Will he learn to handle his own mistakes, or will perfectionism drive others away?
