Ragnhild Eilifsdotter is a Huldrekin, people related to the trolls of Norway, but more human-like. The men kept the people living under hill for centuries, so as soon as they were let out she moved to Seattle to experience some freedom. Unfortunately even the New World has rules and Ragnhild has to do a favor for a troll, always a tricky prospect.

By the time this world reaches 2055, more than half of you will be gone... I have watched this happen before. Not once. Not twice. But 776 times. This is Earth 777. Cities that once never slept now stand silent. Systems built to serve humanity still run... but no one is left to control them. And somewhere between progress and power, something went terribly wrong. You call it fate. You say everything is already written. But I have seen every version of your world collapse- and I can tell you this: Nothing is written. This cycle was meant to teach you something. About love. About life. About each other. But every time... you choose control over connection. Power over humanity. And every time... you destroy something beautiful. I am not here to save you. I am only here to show you- what went wrong.

Nate never truly believed in God, or the afterlife. As a cynical, pragmatic, sceptical boy, there was no way under high heaven that he could believe in something so frivolous. That all changed when Nate died.

I should've never been born among these sinners. I should've never been born on Earth. I should've never ended up with these people, but here I am...If only these people knew the real me... I'm Mary, a saintly girl who's meant for something bigger than life, but for whom the world isn't yet ready. By the evil will of Satan, I've ended up in high school, full of sinful people and an exhausting lack of piety. But God's strength is bigger than Satan's, I know that this life is only temporary. I will go to heaven, and these degenerates will burn in the fires of Gehenna. They might laugh at me, but remember my favourite animals: the dove, the lamb, the donkey and the sheep...
