He built his business from the ground up, worked tirelessly to create a life of success and independence... and she looked down on it without ever telling him. She laughed about it behind his back, called him her "ATM with legs," and treated his generosity as a given-until the night of the company Christmas party. One careless joke. One overheard conversation. One silent nod, and everything changed. He walked away-not in anger, but with clarity. And while he thrived without her, she was left alone, desperate, and realizing the cost of her shallow choices. A story about respect, integrity, and the high price of taking someone for granted. Sometimes, love and loyalty are more valuable than wealth-and when they're gone, there's no turning back.

Judgmental stares and pitying eyes pierced through me, and suddenly I yearned for our steady pace to turn into a quick one. Out of the corner of my eye, I see their hushed whispers as we pass by. "Poor girl." Pity. "Life has been too hard on her." Sympathy. "A pity that the riches ended up with someone like her." Disappointment. I bowed my head as I chose to ignore the world around me and tried to escape the prying eyes. Time seemed to have slowed down as our trek felt a tad bit too long. At last, a pair of black, shiny shoes and a hand appeared in my range of vision. I slowly looked up and met the smiling eyes of an aged man. He gave me an encouraging nod. I took the offered hand and he helped me climb up the vehicle. ------------------------------- A short story written for my club, thought I would publish it here too and hopefully get critiques. - Dani.

"Here," he patted his lap. "Since it has no more chairs, you can sit on top of me.' he suggested. "No I can't! I'm going to crush you." I panicked. "Just sit down." he ignored my comment. "Your size is perfectly fine. I love you just the way you are." he stated; which both shocked and surprised me. ~~~~~~~~~~~ At South Wood High, you can't: 1. Have a disability 2. Don't have a lot of money 3. Or Mainly Fat .... in order to fit in. But unfortunately, I had all those things. All my life, I have been bullied and constantly teased about my weight and reading problems (dyslexia). I got spit on, laughed at, and kicked. I tried my best to survive in this judgmental world. People would make fun of you whether your very skinny or very fat. Their never satisfied! However, I fell hard for this very handsome and boy. He loves me just the way I am. You would have swore he likes those slut bags or fit girls. But NO! He likes big, fat, overweight girls like me.
