Charon luôn quay một phía bề mặt về Pluto, và Pluto cũng luôn quay một mặt về Charon. Có thể hình dung theo kiểu nếu một người đứng ở phía bề mặt gần của Pluto, Charon sẽ lơ lửng trên bầu trời mà không chuyển động; nếu người này đi về phía bề mặt bên kia, anh ta sẽ không thể nhìn thấy Charon. Giống như hai con người cô độc yêu nhau, trong mắt họ chỉ có người còn lại. Kể cả khi không được chiếu sáng và sưởi ấm bởi Mặt Trời, thì chúng ta vẫn có thể sưởi ấm cho nhau mà. Có lẽ đó cũng là lí do trên bề mặt Pluto xuất hiện một trái tim rất lớn hình thành từ lớp băng lạnh lẽo.
