. ‧ ︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵ ‧ ˚ ₊ ꒰ 'New School with "Old School" Rules' ♡ ꒱ ︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶ ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・When trust-fund brat Mariana Taub-Bowen's dad loses the family fortune in a disastrous investment, she's forced to leave her perfect private-school life behind for the small beach town of New Royal, California. New Royal Senior High is nothing like private school: it's a vintage styled histrionic breeding ground for eccentric personalities, petty rivalries, and a surprisingly talented band scene. Desperate for a leadership position, Mariana discovers quiet, reserved August Oliveira's knack for singing and decides to turn him into New Royal's next hot rockstar, with the help of his sarcastic ghostwriter, Orion Backlund. But as August becomes the star she always knew he could be and Orion becomes much harder to ignore, Mariana finds herself caught between the boy she put in the spotlight and the boy writing the songs behind it.

Towerpointe Prep is the most prestigious boarding school and the only way to get in, is to be absolutely amazing. So, how did Asher Devreaux--the varsity track runner, just happen to slip by? Turns out varsity boy doesn't only have a fast mile time, but a wide mind and a witty sense of humour--Just what Emerson doesn't need. The girl who's been trained her whole life to succeed and the boy who somehow made it in. When the two share a love for running and somehow collide: Anything could happen. ******This story was written when I was a sophomore in high school and my writing has obviously improved since then. I decided to take this off drafts because 1) I'm writing a sequel to be posted soon AND 2)I was re-writing this, but decided the story was better left for my future self to revisit.*****

"Roses are red but Violets aren't blue". That's what I'd always tell my mother. She was a poet and she had read us tons of poems when we were young that would classically start "roses are red, violets are blue". But Violets aren't blue, technically they're purple. She said that wasn't the point but I always hated they put poems that way.
