The Battle of Karbala was a very sad and violent time in Islamic history. It included the death of many, including Hazrat Hussain عليه السلام, Hazrat Abbass عليه السلام and Bibi Sakinah رضي الله عنه. This book is going to tell you the whole story, but the story will be separated into parts. For instance, the death of different people will be in different parts and a few parts of the story will be in different parts. Also, I have studied all of this in Urdu, so I may add some Urdu parts, but they will be translated as well.

Asalam Aleikum, peace be upon you to all my brothers and sisters. I offer my sincerest condolences to the entire Muslim Ummah for the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Holy Prophet's grandson, Hussain, son of Ali, who was martyred on the 10th day or Ashura, of the first month of the Islamic Calendar, Muharram in a city called Karbala in modern day Iraq over 1400 years ago when he stood up against a tyrant and faced an army of tens of thousands with only 300 men and ultimately, gave the biggest sacrifice. In honour and commemoration of this sacrifice, I have decided to compile this book of Islamic poetry. I humbly present this book to you and pray that these small efforts please Allah the Almighty and the Ahlulbayt (PBUTA). I thank them for everything they have blessed me with.

And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead, nay; they are living, though ye perceive it not" The Holy Quran Winston Churchill once said "History is written by the victors", this is probably true. However, Mr. Churchill's observation is disproved when applied to the conflict between the oppressed Imam Hussain and the Omayyad Khalif Yazid. This conflict embodied the Prophet Mohammad's word's in which he said "the greatest jihad is to speak the word of truth into the face of a tyrant". Moreover, a conflict resonating with the Holly Quran's passage quoted in the begging of this introduction. A passage perfectly illustrating Yazid's tyranny leading to the massacre of Imam Hussain and his 70 odd followers. This violent death immortalised as an unconventional victoty in the history books. Although fourteen hundred years old, the historical battle in in Karbala continues to capture the minds and hearts of millions across boundaries of language, land and time.
