Après avoir intégré l'"Antique" en tant que serveur à temps partiel, il essaya d'apprendre à vivre comme le font les goules et a finalement adopté le surnom de Cache-Œil C'est dans ce monde, un jour, que Kirito, jeune étudiant solitaire, s'inscrit à l'académie du CCG pour suivre les traces de son père où il finira majeur de sa promotion.
