In the world of Pac-World, before the Pac-War started there were two Pac-Worlders who were legendary Explorers. They explore an ancient ruin that was long forgotten deep below in Pac-World. King Boo helps Rosalina relieve some stress.

Luigi has supposedly won a mansion in a contest he didn't even enter. But this strange reward soon turns into a nightmarish death trap, a death trap which has also managed to claim Mario! Armed with only a flashlight and a mere vacuum cleaner, and with spooky spirits and a vengeful foe at his back, Luigi must risk his life to find his big bro before it's too late. Because he made a vow to Mario, and no haunted mansions or spooky ghosts will compel him to break it.

Luigi is tired of being in Mario's shadow. But, is he going to face it when once again going to face his problem when Fawful and King Boo kidnap Mario and Peach? Will Daisy and Luigi's best German Italian friend, Ailani Akamu help him? Is Mario going to live or die? Will this story end with a happy or sad ending?
