Jessie Vance walked out of prison with a cardboard box, a child's drawing, and 8,415 days behind him. Two weeks later, a deputy with a grudge and a conveniently malfunctioning body camera tries to send him back. The charge: assault on an officer. The evidence? A scratch he didn't put there. Kelly Brennan takes cases no one else wants. When she reads Jessie's file - seven years for defending himself, fifteen days of freedom, a deputy with a history of abuse - she pays his bond from her own pocket. Brings him to her farm. Gives him a shack with a leaking roof and a wood stove that smokes. He works the land. She builds the case. Strictly professional. But the farm is small. The nights are cold. And the river behind the pines is the first place Jessie has felt clean in twenty-three years. When Kelly follows him there - boots off, wading into water too cold to bear - the line between lawyer and client starts to give. Deputy Harlan isn't finished. The sheriff's office closes ranks. The prosecutor offers deals that taste like surrender. As Kelly digs deeper, she uncovers corruption far beyond one bad cop - a system that buries the innocent to protect its own. Witnesses are terrified. Threats arrive at the farm gate. And the trial is coming faster than either of them is ready for. Now Jessie must choose: run, fight, or sacrifice himself to protect the woman who risked everything for him. Kelly must decide what she's willing to lose - her career, her reputation, her carefully guarded heart - for a man the world has already condemned. Their arrangement was supposed to be temporary. Their feelings were supposed to wait. But the river doesn't stop for anyone. And neither does what's growing between them. A slow-burn romance wrapped in a legal thriller, set against the wide sky and cold water of rural Montana. For readers who want their love stories earned, their justice hard-won, and their redemption real.

Based on a true investigation. In the digital age, you are guilty until you pay to be proven innocent. Anaximandro Gochi is a Senior Litigation Partner who thought he had seen it all-from street-level racketeering to white-collar fraud. But he has never faced a criminal like TraderKnows. It operates from the shadows of the internet, a website (https://www.traderknows.com/) that claims to protect investors. In reality, it is a ruthless algorithm designed to destroy reputations for profit. It doesn't hunt people; it hunts data. It scrapes government databases for new company names-like the ghost project StdAmeRiTradingPlatforms or the quiet OneYeeHolding-and automatically brands them as "Scams" before they even launch. When the victims beg for mercy, the machine offers a solution: Pay the ransom. This is the story of Operation Glass House. It is a look inside the legal war room as one lawyer attempts to unmask a Hong Kong-based phantom that has no address, no face, but a very real hunger for money. They thought they were invisible. They were wrong.

The author, Alexander Otis Matthews, is a native of Washington DC ,from a respected African American family involved in local government and education. He is a trained clinical therapist who became a real estate broker and developer in the early 1990s. In 2006 he purchased a project in an exclusive suburb in Clifton VA for 4.5 million dollars, and the lawyer for the seller disliked the author's racial and religious characteristics and began a four year campaign to have him investigated and prosecuted by his friends in federal law enforcement as a means of punishing him for owning a home in the private subdivision. The author was convicted in 2011 of wire fraud, but used his formal education to learn federal law and appeal his conviction on his own without an attorney. After litigating his appeal for five years, on November 5th, 2015 the Fourth Circuit finally vacated and remanded the case back to the lower court's district judge. The author has written this memoir to bring to the public's attention the grave issues of racial bias and injustice currently plaguing our nation's federal legal system. His story is an incredible one that he hopes will add to the public's knowledge about the very grave issues we face in our federal legal system. The hard copy book will be published and available in April 2017 by a London publisher, the paperback book will be published by Amazon on January 31st, 2017, and Smashwords is also publishing the ebook on January 31st, 2017 to its platform and all major ebook platforms. Most Americans have no idea what federal judges, prosecutors, and agents are getting away with against criminal defendants.

Rating: Teen (political tension, implied oppression, legal brinkmanship) Content / Trigger Notes: coercive governance themes, cultural suppression (non-graphic), political intimidation, tense negotiations. For a hundred years, the Galactic Council celebrated Humanity as a "success story": a once- isolated Deathworld species uplifted into the harmony of interstellar law. But the fine print kept growing. Treaty addenda became cultural mandates. Cultural mandates became enforcement. Enforcement became ownership. Then, without warning, Earth transmits a single, immaculately polite missive: Humanity revokes its own membership due to Cultural Irreconcilability. The Council panics- because the treaties were never meant to be escapable... and because the humans wrote their exit clause a century ago. And yes I admit it, I recycled names etc. from numerous other #HFY & #HaSO stories.
