Lightning Stories

This story is an homage/parody of the video game series Sonic the Hedgehog. As such, it all takes place on an alternate Earth -- better known as Immobi. This wicked wild world is home to a variety of anthropomorphic animals, including two 19-year-olds in particular. There's the good-sported, itchy-footed, and quick-witted Umeme Cheetah. Then there's the cocky, carefree, and foolhardy Radi O. Peregrine. The cat and bird are best buds who not only share a brotherly bond, but a need for speed as well. Hence their names (translated in Swahili) these two Immobians wield the power of electrokinesis. Pretty self-explanatory, but they're able to generate high amounts of electricity within their bodies -- allowing them to perform various tricks and techniques. The most prominent being to move at literal lightning speed, as our duo race across the vast African continent -- if not beyond -- in search of thrill and danger. Be it open plains, dense jungles, scorching deserts, or etc. etc. -- these sparking speedsters will certainly be there in a flash. Throughout their adventures, Umeme and Radi will come across various characters -- both friend and foe alike. With their most frequent foes being monstrous entities known as Nightmares. Created from a currently anonymous source, each kind varies from shape and size -- yet shares a common goal to wreak total chaos. While these Nightmares are determined to do so wherever they go, both cheetah and peregrine are determined to stop them in their tracks. So don't blink -- 'cuz if you ever see two streaks speed by, you can bet one hell of a storm's a brewin'.

Struck by Lightning is an anthology featuring works that span several years of my life. Some are new and fresh, some I wrote or first conceived of several years ago. Most stories will feature elements of cosmic horror while some stay a little more grounded. Though all will delve into elements of the fantastical, mystical or scary. Some of the stories are inspired by other works, mostly video games like Rimworld or Escape from Tarkov and convey my love and admiration for them. An alternate Cars 2, of which I'm surprised there aren't more of, in which Lightning is mistaken for the American spy instead of Mater. NOT humanized. I WILL make it work. Things aren't going so smoothly at the beginning of the World Grand Prix. But they are about to get bumpier. Lightning's track career is jeopardized when he finds himself at the center of an international espionage that threatens his, the racers, and his closest friend's lives! Okay, so this will be put after all the events of the latest seasons, some couples will be married some new ones will definitely show up. But here's the thing. What will the Gang do when they find an old serpentine tomb similar to the on Assphera was in? Who will come out of that one? Friend or foe?
