She is in the process of questioning whether her relationship with her Captain would ever be a possibility when a mysterious alien named Khan is added to the picture. Marie and Kirk must carry out a mission they had never imagined, with help from their newfound friends Uhura, Spock, Chekov, Scotty, and Bones.

Spock and Jim have beamed down to a deserted planet to gather a crystal (which has hallucinatory effects, making you have vivid flashbacks to traumatic events in your past). On their way back to the ship, they find out the transporter is broken and their radios are being messed up from the everlasting storm that circles the planet. They have to make do for week with only themselves and their tragic pasts. Trigger warning. If you suffer from PTSD or are 'triggered' easily I would suggest avoiding this book. Thanks.
