Jacquline (Jack) Dreyer, is a painfully shy hacker. She lives for her computer, and her online persona is as real to her as the small town where she lives. For months, Jack has been working on deciphering an 'alien' language from a sophisticated game, without success. She begins to wonder if it is a game at all, and not just a front for a Government Agency, using hackers to test their encryption algorithms. She is ready to give up, when a chance remark leads to a breakthrough and to her astonishment, she cracks the code. There is no time to celebrate though, or announce her discovery: she has to get to school. But when men in a dark SUV start following her, Jack's virtual world and real-life begin to blur. Their appearance in her small town heralds the start of sudden disappearances, mysterious lights in the sky, and a sinister Blue Water, which does not appear to obey the laws of physics. Jack believes she may have stumbled on a Government conspiracy, but is the truth even stranger and more deadly?
