After a whole school year, Luca and Giulia are finally returning to Portorosso. During those nine months, Luca has developed a super-huge-enormous secret, and he's written about it dozens of times in his daily journal. He takes it home, determined to hide the contents from everyone-especially Alberto. But Alberto is stubborn, and as soon as he suspects something is fishy, he won't let up. Wanna know the worst part? Luca was the Eros to his Apollo. For it was Eros that left poor Apollo heartbroken and took his Daphne away. Certainly that's exactly how the myth went. Vincenzo was sure. OR Luca accidentally starts a rivalry with the most popular boy at school over Giulia. Except, Giulia cares more about destroying evil empires of injustices and Luca only cares about his best friend Alberto. He finds out Luca wants to go to school again for the year, and he doesn't want that to happen. He finds out that he caught feelings for Luca, but he doesn't want to show that yet. They then later meet up with Ercole.... - these characters aren't mine, they belong to Disney's Pixar movie called Luca.

So. Here are the facts as you see them. Fact number one: Giulia is going to be on the train for Genova in two days. She's going back home--because Genova is her home, apparently, and you're still grappling with the idea that there are places outside your island and Portorosso, BIG ones, they keep telling you, all over the globe--where she'll spend the next nine or so months going to school. Fact number two: You and Luca now own your very own Vespa. It's not road-ready yet, and it might not be for a while, which is fine actually because it turns out now that the Paguros aren't going to send Luca away to the bottom of the ocean, you're going to have to whittle them down into giving him permission to run away with you. Fact number three: That's not even really a plan that makes sense, if you think about it for more than a few minutes at a time. Fact number four: You haven't forgotten that Luca doesn't actually want to run away with you anymore. He's just pretending he never said it.
