One never knows which way the wind will blow regarding ones luck, but Shiro feels quite lucky after the other paladins find him. In fact, his luck seems to pay off for Pidge as they locate one of her family members. Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron - Legendary Defender. This is written for the Fanfic Friday contest Lucky FriYay. I picked Takashi Shirogane, or Shiro. For those not familiar with the series, V:LD is about "five unsuspecting teens" who find themselves piloting Voltron, the one thing which can defeat Zarkon. Shiro is "wise beyond his years", acting as both leader and parental/mentor figure to the other four teens, something he was already doing for Keith prior to the failed Kerberos mission. Shiro is normally calm and collected, but suffers from PTSD episodes due to his time as a Galra prisoner. The character Slav also breaks this calm demeanor with his own paranoia and OCD issues involving alternate realities. Also, while he is normally positive in attitude, he has a darker side to his personality. As such his bucket list of things he would like to use his good luck for is at times dark, sarcastic, repetitive at times and also containing things he hopes he knows will eventually happen, but isn't looking forward to. It's a way to let off a bit of steam, but also a reflection of his own personal anxieties. This includes getting used to the fact he was gone for a year and not necessarily realizing every single way that Keith's grown up. For the story, I picked finding one of Pidge's family member as this was the one point on his list I felt I could do without touching upon the others excluding Shiro's things he hopes he'll never have the good luck of never having to deal with. The title comes from the fact Shiro's last name of Shirogane means silver in Japanese, but also the following quote. "The Sun doesn't just hang on one family's tree." Anchee Min, Empress Orchid.

My entry for the Lucky Friyay contest. Everything seemed to be going right for Oka Ruto. She seemed to be on a lucky streak. That was until she confessed her feelings to her crush Taro Yamada. He broke her heart and her good luck streak. Harshly. This is only the beginning of the worst week of Oka's life. All she gets is more and more bad luck, as well as bullying and hate from Taro and his friends. The only one on her side is Budo Masuta. He's determined to break her streak of bad luck and make her smile again, but will he be able to give his crush the luck she needs?...
