It is the year three thousand. Exactly one year ago, the earth as we knew it ceased to exist. Gory details of it are etched perfectly into my mind. I remember how people were torn apart by hands the size of houses, how their insides spilled out until the ground was slick with blood. How the screams of the terrified and the doomed filled the air. I watched my house burn to the ground along with everything I ever knew. My name is Kayla Richards. I am 17 years old. A year ago, I knew how to do math and flirt with boys. Now, I have learnt to hunt and scavenge, and keep myself alive. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so good at that. If there is no one else left in the world for me, why do I live at all?

Skylar Anderson. Not popular. Not unknown. More like in the middle. She's 17 and in the 11th grade. Her high school life has been pretty normal. A boyfriend here and there. Very little fights with her friends. She's just your average teenage girl. Who knew that a simple seat arrangement would completely flip her life upside down? Drew Young. The school hottie. I guess you could say he's a dick but that's an understatement. Skylar has always hated him. Even before she met him. Now that she has though her opinion on him has drastically changed. But the question is.. Was it for the worse or better?

We are probably the best people you could ever meet but we are practically invisible. Let's just say that we aren't exactly popular or the most liked. We are not that good at many things but if there is one thing we are decent at, it's ranting about the struggles of a teenager.

She had a terrible past that she doesn't remember in the slightest. Why did she forget? She holds a scroll 📜 inside her body that could shake the very foundations for this world. After leaving her husband after a string of . . . incidents, Aiko finds herself in Suna, beginning a new life with a baby and an adopted son.
