In excess of 30,000 Boston Marathon sprinters will take off from Hopkinton on Monday, April 15 - yet not at the same time. Sprinters leave the beginning line in waves to make space on the course, with the main clump of racers withdrawing at 9:02 a.m. also, the last wave starting at 11:15 a.m.
