James Potter ne se rappelait plus exactement comment lui et Sirius Black étaient devenus amis. Une heureuse rencontre dans le Poudlard Express, une affiliation à la même maison et puis très vite, ils s'étaient retrouvé tout le temps assis accoter en cours. Leur amitié n'a fait que croître jusqu'à cette deuxième année où ils avaient fait tout leur possible pour se retrouver dans le même dortoir. James admiré Sirius, il était tout ce que James pensait ne pas être et tout ce qu'il aspirait à être. Il était drôle, confiant, beau et imposant. Quand on était avec lui, on avait l'impression que le monde nous appartenait, une grande cours de récréation où l'on pouvait faire tout ce que l'on désirer, poser nos propres règles, enfreindre celle des autres. On pouvait mener des guerres et des vengeances contre tout le monde sans conséquence. Malheureusement, ce n'était qu'une impression, le monde ne leur appartenait pas, en tout cas, James commencer à le comprendre. Et leur acte avait des conséquences qui, si elle ne semblait pas toucher Sirius, affecter James autant que les comportements de plus en plus absurde de son ami.
