Will Byers has never cared for football games. He doesn't mind them, of course-you have to force yourself to enjoy them when you're made to attend every one. He doesn't mind the loud stand tunes, or the silly dances and chants that are reserved specifically for the band, or the chaotic atmosphere as they prepare for the halftime show, or even those rare events where Will ends up being genuinely invested in the game. Which is why it never fails to amaze Will when his boyfriend is always a few minutes late to every single game without fail. OR Modern marching band AU byler fic where Mike plays trombone and Will plays vibraphone! It's the Party's senior year, and the last marching competition of their high school career is coming up. Featuring henderhop and lumax shenanigans, average band kid tomfoolery, and the unfortunate presence of Will's co-section leader Chance who can't seem to catch a hint that Will is very much taken.

"𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥." It's Azure's last year here at Nekoma High. Her third time around being a member of the Nekoma Color Guard team - oh sorry, the Marching Band. See, the band director, Shino Sensei, didn't like the idea of Color Guard being its own thing so he decided to call it a unit of Marching Band. Whatever. Azure didn't care that much about what it was called. Whether it was called a unit of Marching Band or even just 'the flag spinners', Color Guard would always be about spinning flags, tossing rifles, and catching sabres. And losing. Nothing about Color Guard would change. Nothing about her 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 would change. Oh how wrong she was. In this Marching Band AU, Azure grows closer to her teammates, finding a family within them. She meets new friends, a group she likes to call Cap'n Crazy and his wildcats, and experiences crazy adventures with them. Adventures she thought could only happen in a coming-of-age movie. Read about Azure as she finishes her final year, living through the most gut-wrenching drama and the saddest of heartbreaks. (i thought it would be so funny to make a hq story about a girl who does color guard since... i do color guard. here's a story taken from my experiences lol. enjoy! <3) started: may 21st, 2023 finished:
