Imagine removing mathematics from existence.
How far is one place from another if distance has no value?
How can a structure stand without proportion, angle, balance, or measure?
How can something move without direction, position, speed, or time?
How can patterns repeat, quantities change, shapes form, or countless pieces combine into something whole?
We usually think of mathematics as something we created to describe reality.
EXPONENT asks a different question.
What if mathematics was never describing reality?
What if mathematics is the reason reality exists at all?
In EXPONENT, numbers, equations, dimensions, proportions, mathematical relationships, and the laws connecting them are not merely ideas written in books.
They are the structure of existence itself.
And if even one mathematical truth begins behaving incorrectly...
reality has a problem.
A reality where mathematics is not something used to explain the universe-
mathematics is the universe.
Everything exists through numbers, relationships, equations, proportions, dimensions, and mathematical laws. Among the beings of this reality are Exponents, individuals born with numerical bases who develop through exponization.
But there is one problem.
ZERO-0 cannot exponize.
No matter how far he tries to progress, he remains Zero.
Then he begins noticing tiny mathematical inconsistencies-values where they should not exist, patterns that no longer fit, and relationships behaving in ways mathematics says they cannot.
At first, they seem like insignificant errors.
They are not!
Because when mathematics defines reality, even the smallest contradiction can become the beginning of something much larger.
EXPONENT: Equation follows Zero as he enters a wider world of Cadet-Ex, criminals, investigators, and mathematical anomalies-and begins asking a dangerous question:
What happens when mathematics itself stops being reliable?
