Maverick had Penny take Mavi in fear of what would happen to her if an enemy fleet attacked. Mavi came back to be part of Top Gun, graduated at second-best (Hangman was first). Called back to Top Gun with the elite graduates for more training. Mavi felt a little weird with her father teaching her, but that didn't stop her from throwing him off with a few tricks she learned from Goose. In this Alternate Universe, Amelia (Penny's daughter) does not exist. ICEMAN DOES NOT DIE IN THIS AU. I do not own any characters in this story except for Mavi. This title wasn't what I originally had in mind, but it suits the story.
