The corridor outside the hospital was unusually quiet.
Anvika walked out of the ward, removing her gloves, tired but focused, already thinking about her next patient.
And then-
She collided straight into someone.
Hard.
The file in her hand slipped, papers scattering across the floor.
"Great," she muttered under her breath, crouching down. "Perfect end to the day."
The man didn't move immediately.
For a second, he just stood there.

"You expect apologies from strangers?" he asked.
"I expect basic manners," she replied, straightening up.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
The air felt... strange.
Tense, but not hostile.
Then someone rushed past behind her, calling out-
"Dr. Anvika! Emergency!"
She turned instantly.
"I'm coming!"
Without another word, she walked past him.
Didn't look back.
Didn't care.
Or at least-that's what she told herself.
Behind her, he stood still for a second longer.
Watching.
As if trying to understand something he wasn't used to feeling.
Then he glanced at the file she had taken back.
A name caught his eye.
Dr. Anvika Thakur.
A faint, almost unnoticeable curve touched his lips.
"Interesting
