I walked along the path to the place where swim practice was held. Could I do it? Could I tell Misti that I had a crush on her? I doubted that I could. As soon as I walked into the building, my best friend, Fred, tackled me, yelling strange things at me. I only managed to hear him say, 'PETER KISSED MISTI!' Peter had been my enemy for longer than I could remember. Fred was right. Peter got her before me, just like Fred had guessed that he would. I stormed into the pool building, looking for Misti. She was glaring at Peter, wiping her mouth in disgust. A small smile formed on my face. She didn't like him. With thirty seconds to get into the pool, I got into my swim suit, beginning warm-up in the same lane as Misti.
