It was almost impossible to make it out, but the air actually carried a scent of roses. She couldn't really remember seeing any roses around but, however small, the scent was still there. Lurking around like an unforgettable memory.
While looking around without moving her head, she could feel her heart pounding through her chest. She was crawling further back into the shadows of the great tree behind her as carefully as humanly possible, and the panic started to take a hold of her. It was like an alarm, her heartbeat pounding in her ears at a quick pace, her breath following the rythm.
As long as he doesn't see me I'll be safe, she thought to herself, well knowing it was only wishful thinking. But she was desperate.
