This poem is about the feelings of person who is confused whether she should listen to what her heart says or what her brain says. She feels she is forced by society to behave in a certain manner when she actually wants to pursue and do what her heart tells her to. The heart wants what it wants, but she is filled with anxiety.

My interpretation on the Afterlife.

Well, the title says it all. This is a poem about the feelings of a young teen who is naive, makes stupid mistakes and gets manipulated easily. The teen does not feel free in his/her own home because he/she is insecure about himself/herself . He/she wants to feel safe. It is a plea from the teen to the people around her/him. Enjoy!

For those of you who do not have MUN in your school, MUN is Model United Nations in which there are different committees which people from school join in as delegates and debate about different topics or agendas. An Executive Board presides over the sessions and gives the delegates chances to speak. This poem is about the thoughts and daydreams of a young girl who crushes on a guy. She thinks about how she would be together with him and has hopes of him liking her back. Unfortunately, she realises that he likes someone else and she feels upset and horrified about it. She does not want to think about the guy anymore and she forgets about her hopes with him. This is actually a poem inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's story "The Kabuliwala". If you have read this story before, you would know that a girl called Mini, the narrator's daughter is a chatterbox and she knows no bounds when it comes to talking when she is young. She gets along well with the Kabuliwala or Rahamat, but forgets about him later on. The story was written from the narrator's point of view, but my poem will focus entirely on Mini's point of view... This poem is what a rhyming monologue of Mini's would look like. She changes topics from one to the other drastically, as she does in the story. She does not want to go to her in-laws and she expresses her feelings about her father getting distanced slowly from her. Enjoy!
