La primera vez que Gerard se fijó en Frank, estaba en el patio pintando un lienzo negro. No fue algo tan claro. En la WAK siempre hay gente nueva, caras que aparecen y desaparecen, sobre todo en una toma. No tenía nada de especial. O eso pensó en ese momento. Después se acordó de esa escena. De cómo estaba parado, concentrado, con las manos manchadas de pintura, como si de verdad le importara lo que estaba haciendo. Y le molestó un poco. Más tarde -mucho más tarde- iba a saber que Frank también lo había estado mirando. Que mientras él hablaba en la asamblea, o escribía en el cuaderno, o se quedaba callado como siempre, el otro estaba fijándose en detalles que Gerard ni siquiera pensaba en notar. Growing up in an extremely religious town, Frank knew he never really felt like he belonged. Monroeville was creepy, like, really creepy. These people spent all their time praying, crosses were everywhere, everyone went to church, no one was allowed to skip it, it was like some unspoken rule there. He hated it.
