Arcturus finds his grandson's inquisitive mind intriguing. Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter. I stalled a bit on this one because I wanted to make the fact I am working with the headcanon of Regulus being on the spectrum and then I realized I really didn't need to make it super obvious because there are times when it isn't super obvious that someone is on the spectrum.

The death of a pharmaceutical mogul's wife brings a rising drug cartel, a compromised police force, and a depressed CEO in a collision course to control a deadly new opiate, DayDream, that makes you dream awake. The drug, the company, the streets of Boston, are all up for grabs. ***** It seemed like any other Boston obituary - Zizi Geber, the wife of pharmaceutical mogul Henry White, dead in a car accident. And still, there are too many questions and not enough answers, especially when the police come knocking at Henry's door saying they found signs of foul play. With his company's drug flodding the streets illegally, the police investigating his wife's death, and shady competitors trying to take him down, the only peace he can find is at the bottom of a pill bottle - or so he thinks. Corrupt detective Graham Dunne thought this was going to be an open and shut case. Accidents happen, after all. But every step he takes, he seems to be beaten to the punch by someone trying to cover up the truth, and the name of the crime family paying his bills keeps popping up. But above all, there seems to be something else, something macabre at play. And in the middle of all: DayDream, the drug that makes you dream awake. Follow a journey of grief, vengeance, murder, and surrealism, as a terrible conspiracy seizes control of a historic New England city, and discover how far a person is willing to go to achieve peace. For peace is only a DayDream away.

In Kreacher's mind the worst punishment he could suffer was the death of a beloved master, but he'd gladly take any other punishment Regulus wanted including sufferings like that which he'd suffered by drinking the potion,. Regulus living of course has repercussions on everyone. Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter. This is one of my projects for NaNoWriMo. Specifically, it's the start of the prequel series for a one-shot I wrote where Neville Longbottom is the boy who lived. The first attempt at a first chapter didn't work and then when I went to write the actual first chapter of the original first story I wanted to write, I found myself realizing I would be going further back, yet I also realized Regulus living would actually change things for everyone, including which boy Voldemort would in fact choose, though depending on what happens after the first chapter - because there are so many possibilities including other possibilities in regards to Regulus and him living, all of which would have profound effects on the plot.
