"This was it. No-one could deny that I, Helen Wersel, was about to achieve the feat of completing my New Year's Resolution on the very first day of the New Year. I looked at my crush, who was standing at the edge of the Coscep Public Swim Centre lap pool, wearing nothing but board shorts and a tan you could spread on a waffle and eat with maple syrup. Talking to your crush for the first time was hard, it seemed. So, maybe you could deny it. But only a little. Well, maybe a lot." A Short Story | For @TeenFictionCommunity's Writing Contest Number 8: New Year's Resolutions. Word Count: 915 The cover is way too serious and grown-up for this story. XD The New Year's Resolution: Talk to her crush. ;)

"And guys this is Mason, Alex and his cousin Parker." the blue eyed guy, Parker, smirked at me and gave us a nod. He was very attractive, I mean all the guys were, but his eyes gave him that extra hotness. **************************************************************************************************** Meet Addilyin Carter. She's a sarcastic, nerdy, funny bookworm and coffee addict. She's not the the most popular girl in school, but she most certainly doesn't care about that. She has a few good friends, loving parents and a dark secret, one only her parents know about. Now enter Parker Phillips. He's arrogant, egotistical and gorgeous, and boy does he know it. You know, a typical bad boy. After meeting Addy on a New Year's party he makes it his mission to win over her heart, no matter what (even if it means moving schools).
