It wasn't a game for him. It was more than that, he strived to cause pain. It became a lifestyle for him to break hearts. Maybe you could blame it on his childhood, his upbringing or his previous relationships. Someone had hurt him badly, somebody else made him this way. Maybe this was how he coped. Whatever it was, I forgive him. Not for hurting me, not for breaking my heart. I forgive him for making me realize I deserve better.
