Jay never planned on becoming part of the streets. He just wanted money.
In late 2007, at twenty-three years old, Jay is trying to build a life with his college-student girlfriend, Crystal, when Deandre "Dre" Mason enters his world. Dre has everything Jay wants-cash, weed, connections, and the kind of respect that makes people listen when he walks into a room.
It starts with something simple: the keys to Jay's 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix.
A hundred dollars here. A bag of weed there. Easy money for letting Dre borrow the car for a few hours. Jay doesn't ask what Dre is doing with it because, at first, he doesn't want to know.
Then Dre introduces him to Stackhouse, better known as Little Rex-a man whose reputation carries more weight than Jay realizes. Soon, unfamiliar faces are appearing at Jay's house, his car is disappearing for longer stretches, and the line between helping Dre and becoming part of Dre's world begins to disappear.
The money gets better. The risks get bigger. And every favor pulls Jay a little deeper into a life he never intended to live.
By the time he understands what his car, his house, and even his name have become connected to, walking away isn't as simple as handing back the money.
Because some doors are easy to open.
The problem is finding your way back out.
No Way Out is a gritty crime novel about money, loyalty, manipulation, and how a series of small decisions can quietly become a life you never chose.
