No Dashon wasn't rich but he was a good guy. He offered to take her and her kids in and she accepted it. Dashon has twin girls and he definitely doesn't want anybody doing that to his twin daughters nor his sister or mother. What happens when romantic feelings get involved?

Well, anyone who did was dead now. What was once a luscious green planet full of life had gone to waste like a rotten banana. Grubby, filthy smoke polluting the air, distasteful amounts of corpses, overwhelming, earsplitting screams, loud, carrying out and into the night. Friends, family, people, scarce, like the resources left for us weak humans. Food was extremely rare to find first-hand. Many souls went hunting and never came back. It was clear what happened, the trees sporting monstrous, alien-like scratches. I guess you could call them aliens. The elders illustrated the beasts with fear, giant creatures, a dull, sickening green, like vomit. Pores for skin, skinny figures and large eyes. Apparently, I'd never seen one yet. Others said I was lucky, others that had ventured into the darkness, into the minefields of pain and shame. Every day people would go missing. Taken by the sky people, the anomalies, the ones who didn't fit in. Billions of humans were caught, an extremely small population being able to go into hiding.
