Also Available On Inkitt "Can I ask you something?" She asked softly. "Sure," he smiled. She looked up at him. "Why did you want to be my friend? I mean, there were so many people to choose from. Why me? I'm not even worth it." "You looked so lonely. So sad, so hidden. You looked like you were so used to being silent. But I knew there was more to it than what meets the eye. I wanted to decode the mystery." He looked deep into her eyes. "So what do you want?" She held his gaze, even though she hated eye contact. He smiled softly and sang, "All I wanna be, all I ever wanna be, is somebody to you." ________________________________________________ Darkness and shadows were all she ever saw. She lived in silence, her whole world a monochromatic display that only she could see. Her red rimmed glasses only made clearer her strife and the elastic band on her left wrist reminded her of her long lived sorrow. She hid from the world, going unnoticed by everyone, slowly crumbling to dust on her own. That was all until one faithful day when someone did the unthinkable and decided that she was worth noticing. She was the girl in the grey hoodie. And he was someone who cared. Take your mind on a journey of two unique souls, sprinkle in a little friendship, a teaspoon of tears, a spoon of laughter and fun and maybe a pinch of violence and love with a hint of secrets. And while you wait for that delicious cake to bake, a good sing along won't hurt. Happy July everyone!! I know for some this means sparks and fireworks especially for all those Cancer/Leo children around. Happy birthday to all!! But in tune with celebrating life and all that it has to offer we would like to take this month to talk about suicide awareness and self harm. Self harm has been an issue that is either whispered in hallways or romanticized in media so much so that its often portrayed as art, beauty. But pain isn't beauty and neither is suffering and this month we take an in-depth look into what it really means to live with scars. We also join forces with @no_suicide for our monthly competition as well as lots of interesting interviews from our Wattpad campaigns where they share their stories with us and what drove them to start their campaigns. From all of us at TheSafeZone remember you are never alone and your life has a purpose! We definitely do not condone the use of self-harm as a coping mechanism or suicide as a way out. If an article is heavily opinionated, we put a warning. Thank you for reading!

My family seems to be perfect from the outside looking in. We have the big house, the money for things, the million-dollar-smiles... but nothing is ever as it seems. We're plastic. We're fake. So fake, in fact, that we hide the little things about us, we hide everything about us, to be more specific. My dad does things he isn't supposed to, and my mom is taking it hard. My brother has a full ride to any college of his choice, and he's blowing it away like it's nothing at all. So what would happen if someone found out about us? If they saw through our little charade? If they looked past the kitchen curtains that hide every conversation my parents have with each other? What if we were exposed for who we really are, instead of who everyone thinks we are? - Available to buy now - COMPLETE PLEASE DON'T EDIT - I GOT IT Highest Ranking in General Fiction: # 283
