A/N [2020]: This book will be on hold till further notice. "Sometimes, even the most different people click to one another." ================================================================================= "Wouldn't it's fun while we bond more? It's cool that we've been through a lot yet we're still here." Mary grinned as they walked around city, feeling quite cheerful and in awe. "Ya, we're like an exothermic bond," Reece smiled as he adjust his glasses, taking a sip from his coffee. "Yeah! Mary's right," Kim shouted happily but frowned afterwards, "What's an exothermic bond?" She asked. Reece was about to speak when Liam covers his mouth, "Nope, don't speak, my brains are already swollen from all those crappy reference you've been speaking a lot lately." "Hey guys!" Mary gushed, seemingly her cheerful aura radiating in waves, "What should be our group name?" she asked gleefully. "What's group name?" Liam asked, getting a smack from Mary in return, "Ow! What was that for?" "For being dimwitted and stupid," she answered, glaring. "Ohhh! I have an idea!" Kim made a fist pump, making all the others look at her weirdly. "What is it Kim?" The others asked. "We should be... The Fantastic Four!" She grinned. "But why? We don't have any superpowers," Reece whined. "And we're not that known to others, except Kim," Liam added, putting his hands on the pockets of his leather jacket. "No, it's not about superpowers and heroes, Reece," Kim said flatly and added, "Also popularity isn't." "It's about how we are so different and so unlikely to be close yet we clicked perfectly even though how hard we've been through."

Intro Broken hearts and scars in only places she can see, she just wanted, she just wanted, to feel something-Molly Kate Kestner, His Daughter Not everyone is lucky. Not everyone has lots of money, lots of friends, and a great family. Alia Johnson isn't one of those people. She has all of those things. She has great grades, good looks, and lots of friends, yet somehow, she is lacking a big thing, a father. Her dad died just one year ago, when his army team was bombed as soon as he was deployed to Iraq. Since than, she lost a lot of other things. Hope, confidence, strength. She has quit dancing, and has also lost interest in music all together. She can't seem to be able to get happy, no matter how much she tries. She doesn't put forth effort to anything anymore, because she feels she has truly lost the light in her life, leaving her miserable and uselessly stranded in the dark. As the holiday season comes around, what used to be a joyus occasion, is now only another miserable time for her. Her mom has yet to notice her struggles, her friends just don't seem to care, and even if she was to have the whole world surrounding her, she could still never feel as though she wasn't alone. Her anxiety keeps her up at night, and leaves her unable to get any sleep. Her thoughts on her self-image and self-worth are also impacting everything she does, from eating, to exercising, to picking out clothes. Letting others thoughts on herself become even more important than her own. Follow Alina and her story as she fights, flies, and cries, along with many other emotions and actions through this journey of hers. Will she be able to overcome this sadness, this struggle, and these other issues she is facing? Will she be able to make it to the end of the tunnel and face the light? Or will her world fade into an even darker blackness than she had before? Find out in... Waiting for That Thing Called Light

"Hi." She jumped slightly, her heart pounding as she slowly slid the knife under her bed. "What are you doing?" He suddenly growled out as he jumped off of her window ledge. She better not be hurting herself especially when he told her not to. "Uh," She cleared her throat as she tried to see through the thick layer of dust clouding her vision. Euphoria still running through her veins. "I told you what would happen if I found you doing this, didn't I?" He walked closer to her crouched form and glared down at her head. This was inexcusable. Why would such a pretty girl keep doing this to herself? ••••• He knew he'd seen her before, even before he'd saw her beautiful face stricken with grief, even before he saw her slowly drawing her window shut, even before he saw the cuts on her arms.

Why me? I'm not even worth it." "You looked so lonely. So sad, so hidden. You looked like you were so used to being silent. But I knew there was more to it than what meets the eye. I wanted to decode the mystery." He looked deep into her eyes. "So what do you want?" She held his gaze, even though she hated eye contact. He smiled softly and sang, "All I wanna be, all I ever wanna be, is somebody to you." ________________________________________________ Darkness and shadows were all she ever saw. She lived in silence, her whole world a monochromatic display that only she could see. Her red rimmed glasses only made clearer her strife and the elastic band on her left wrist reminded her of her long lived sorrow. She hid from the world, going unnoticed by everyone, slowly crumbling to dust on her own. That was all until one faithful day when someone did the unthinkable and decided that she was worth noticing. She was the girl in the grey hoodie. And he was someone who cared. Take your mind on a journey of two unique souls, sprinkle in a little friendship, a teaspoon of tears, a spoon of laughter and fun and maybe a pinch of violence and love with a hint of secrets. And while you wait for that delicious cake to bake, a good sing along won't hurt.
