Octa worked as a bartender and arbiter of the afterlife in her quiet, zen themed bar: Octō Ginta. Unlike her fellow arbiters and colleagues, the 80th floor almost always received guests--because it was where only humans with the worst sins were sent. She was a rare case within the arbiter hierarchy, because she also worked as an assistant to Oculus (the being nearest to God). Her daily life was just as peaceful as her bar--until one day, Nona and Decim come to her with a dangerous proposition.

"You can't tell anyone this secret will die with me today if it has to" these words kept hunting Damien long after his Mum's death, as these were the last words she said to him before she left him. Damien an introverted teenager who lost his Mum as a very young age and has always blamed it on his father and most of all on God for letting it happen. His one and only friend Carrie who has desperately been trying to help him forget about it and to make him see that God is not to be blamed for bad things, but to be glorified and asked for mercy Would he finally heed to Carrie's plea and accept God as his Lord and get the closure he really needs to find peace?.

There, they must compete in Death Games with their souls on the line, the results of which reveal what secrets led them to their situation and what their fate will be afterwards, with the arbiters judging if their souls will either be sent for reincarnation or banished into the void. Though as Decim will find out that one won't need to have secret that need to be revealed nor want either fate.
